Friends now a days knowing weather reports is very important to all of us. The weather satellites help us to know detail latest weather report . The indian meteorological department posted daily pictures of kalpana1 satellite which actually  launched for meteorological purposes . 

Kalpana1 is an exclusive meteorological satellite launched by PSLV in September 2002. It carries Very High Resolution Radiometer and DRT payloads to provide meteorological services. It is located at 74 degree East longitude. It features a very high resolution scanning radiometer (VHRR) , for three band images and a Data Relay Transponder payload (DRT).
